"Great portable heater for a small room." 2010-08-11
By Jane from Oakland, Ca, USA
This is an oil-filled thin panel heater. It takes it about 15 minutes to actually begin heating an area, but it works just as advertised. This heater is absolutely silent, with no oder like you get from the fan-style heater. It does take a while for the heater to fully heat up. About 20 minutes, but it delivers what I was looking for. Very low power usage and enough heat to make a difference of at least 10 degrees. Arrived on time and in perfect condition. My space is 10 Ft. by 10 Ft. (100 Sq. ft.) so I don't need that much actual heat to make a difference in my room. Sitting right in front of the heater delivers very nice radiating heat.

"small and cozy" 2010-01-11
By Gilly (New York, NY)
works great for a small space-which is what I purchased it for. if kept on low setting, doesn't get too hot, important for bare legs, and is even more silent than our delonghi heater(which is better for a larger room). remember to move the dial past the "click" for it to start heating. I would only add a simple programmable time clock for future units. may purchase a separate timer for the outlet for this one.simple, clean, and very functional. our cat is happy too, sniffs it each time, not avoiding it like larger heaters.

"Only makes warm my feet" 2010-01-08
By Bartosz Kowalski
I bought the heater for my leaving room 12 x 12 and I am so disappointed. The heater is small, is producing enough heat to make my feet warm. It is good for office, put under your desk and fill warm.

If you want to heat your room, forget about this product, spend few more $$$ and buy something better otherwise you will have one more thing in your storage or garage.

"Dayton Heater" 2009-12-30
By Jolly Roger
I purchased this heater for a home office after using one for my actual office. Additionally, there were about 10 or so other people in the office building that utilized these heaters. I would say that the room sizes ranged from 12' x 12' to about 20' x 20'. As an oil-based heater, it takes a few minutes to warm up and also warm up the room. However, once it gets going, it really does a fantastic job. Unlike some of those coil heaters that deliver heat to a specific area (such as one's feet), this little unit heats up the entire room and it does it very well. This particular heater, I believe, is also made under the brand "New Air." I ultimately chose this heater over other heaters because it is 1) very thin and takes up very little space, 2) it takes up only 400 watts (unlike most other heaters that take up 1,500 watts), 3) it works very well, 4) it's completely silent (great for speaking on the phone) and 4) I believe it's safer than coil-based heaters. Since this heater is used in a space that has a multitude of other equipment pulling a good amount of wattage, the low wattage was a primary consideration. In fact, the actual office building chose this heater to replace the other original 12 or so heaters because the other heaters were constantly tripping the circuit breakers due to over-utilization of electric power. While it would be nice to have a digital switch to set automatic shut-off and temperature, there is a manual dial where you can set the temperature in the room by turning the dial until you here a "click," which will cause the unit to keep the temperature at that level. All in all, I'm very pleased with this heater and would recommend it to others that are interested in safety, preventing circuit-breaker tripping and silent running.

By VanDyke
This product works excellent:) I had it for about 2 1/2 years and it still works as when I first bought it. Only 400 Watts and works great in my 16 X 13. Because my husband and I have a new born, when the building heat is off, I turn it on and we feel the temperature difference. My husband is an H.V.A.C Tech so he has it by the window to stop the cold air from creeping in. It's the quietest portable heater I ever bought. Makes absolutely no noise. That's a plus for us. Keeps us and the baby warm. I also bought one for my cousin's office space and she loves it. Highly recommend.

Vornado EH1-0028-06 DVH Digital Vortex Heater

Product By Vornado(237 customers reviews)
Lowest Price : $89.10
Product Description
Eliminate annoying hot and cold cycles. Vornado's DVH digital control generates just the right amount of heat…maintaining comfort automatically. Vornado Vortex circulation gently and safely warms an entire room. Full function controls, cool touch exterior, automatic tip-over and over-heat protection. Vornado...The most trusted brand in comfort for over 50 years.

Amazon.com Review

Combat the agony of leaving a hot shower for the chilly household air with a blast of warmth from this heater. From industry leader, Vornado, the fan heater oscillates to spread heat through out the room in no time at all. Best used as an enhancement to a heating system, separate use of the fan heater also provides comfort in the fall and spring months during cool mornings and evenings. Small rooms, up to 12 by 12 feet in size, benefit most from the application of the quiet fan heater.
The electronic heater features a convex grill format to allow air to flow most ably. The fan's grill and cabinet stay cool as heat emits from the protected non-glowing heat element. With three power settings for varying needs, the fan heater runs at 1500 watts and 800 watts. The fan can also run with no heat to circulate air in hotter weather. Equipped with automatic comfort control technology, users enter an ideal temperature and the heating appliance automatically adjusts the output to obtain and maintain this level. To ensure safety, the heater cuts power upon tipping over, or if the heater should overheat. For safe operation, read the manufacturer guidelines and instructions thoroughly prior to use. The USA-made heater is covered under a limited one-year warranty. This unit weighs 5 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

"Wonderful while they last" 2010-10-06
By Come back Mark Twain (Springfield, Missouri USA)
I've had three of these and each lasted about a year, once two, and then the heating will no longer work. I loved them but won't spend again for something that won't last for this price. They fixed the first one for postage only charge (though that fix only lasted one winter) but now offer to send a new one for too much money. These really should be labeled as Disposable. If anyone knows of a heater fan with controls (digital not necessary)that is reliable please let me know. I need one now.

"not very warm - poor quality" 2010-10-04
By Rick A. Friesen
I search MANY reviews for all space heaters. I was willing to spend nearly $100 on a space heater but only if it was the best. Well, we live in a new house and couldn't turn it on the high setting because it would blow a breaker. We have other space heaters that this is not a problem with. Also, it's only been 2 years and it totally crapped out last night. I think a $100 space heater should last longer than 2 years. Especially since I've had $30-$40 ones last 3.

"Arrived dead" 2010-04-21
By Forest Child (Southwest VA)
After doing tons of research and dismissing the competitors on grounds of heating cords and melting bodies, I picked this Vornado. From reading the reviews here I knew it was a gamble. Well, here you go, I lost. The unit came brand new, unopened and dead. There were no signs of physical damage or such. The LCD screen was working, but the unit never moved a bit of air.Returned it and don't plan on getting a new one, too much hassle.

"Didn't work as expected" 2010-03-11
By K. Sass
I was a little disappointed in this product, after seeing all of the rave reviews that it got. What we have is a brick house that is a little cold in the winter. I wanted something to help heat the living room, so we didn't have to fire the furnace constantly. The living room is about 15x20 with one end open to the stairs and dining room. I think this is the problem. This heater didn't put out enough heat to even create a noticable difference in this room. Should it have? I don't know. In all fairness we tried several different types of heaters (ceramic and convection) and they didn't do the job either. Even an Edenpure heater did nothing. But I was hoping that with the reviews that this heater got, that it would have been the one to work. It wasn't. Maybe it would work much better in a smaller room that didn't have big openings like the living room does. Don't know because I returned the product.

"Excellent, 10-year life!" 2010-10-15
By Christopher K. Pryble (Chicago, Illinois, USA)
I bought one of these heaters about 10-years ago. Exact same appearance still, not complaining. I primarily used it to heat my 2-car attached garage non-stop for 9-years. It kept the cars interiors warm and engines started easily. It lasted exactly 10-years, but the cheap 15-amp outlet I plugged it into last winter melted and destroyed the plug\cord with it. So I broke it down and threw it away. I have since replaced the outlet with a 20-amp model (NEMA 20R). I will buy another one of these heaters soon for this winter. I would recommend upgrading ANY outlet to a quality 20-amp model if a heater will run 24-7 plugged into it (the U.S. needs make 20-amp outlets & wiring standard like the Europeans).

I ran my heater nonstop so i admit I was hard on it, but this only lasted a few mnths and now it will not even turn on. I would recommend spending a few dollars more if you are looking for something you will use daily.

"Great heater!" 2009-12-02
By toh246 (Central PA)
We live in a large old home in Central PA, and do not have any heating source on our second floor. We heat our home with a pellet stove in our basement which provides a general passive warmth, and we have three gas cast iron stove units on the first floor, which are on a thermostat. Most rooms in our house have large 6 foot windows, our master bath has 3 of them. The room also faces west, and takes the brunt of most of the bad weather in winter, and is a veritable ice box, with no heat source. We use this heater in our bathroom, set the thermostat at medium, and it warms the room nicely. Our bathroom is about 10x10, with a separate toilet and tub alcove, so not a tiny room. This heater is simple to use, efficient, and we have never had a problem with it, even after several years of ownership.

By Michael King (USA)
These things are useless. I purchased two of them. They both have broken frames; not broken during shipping. One was minor, the other was major. The heat is useless. Unless you are directly beneath it, these do not provide adequate heat. They couldn't heat a footlocker let alone a room.

"handsome and effective" 2009-10-01
By Andi P. (New England, USA)
The heat lamp is sturdy and good looking. The light from it is more like candle light and is good for evening dinners on the porch............or cozy mornings in spring or fall. It does throw the 10 ft circle of heat as it says. It is not to be thought of as a heater to heat a whole room but to extend the time an unheated room can be enjoyed.

I like the style. It has too small of a base and it will get blown over in high winds. The heating element also trips the breaker switch sometimes.

"Quickly heats up entire room" 2010-10-13
By tented (Pittsburgh, PA, USA)
I rent a 100+ year old home in Pittsburgh, PA, with terrible windows and bad winters. I've tried more room heaters than I can count, but I like this one a lot. Since there isn't a fan, it's silent, so there's no white noise. It's pretty tall, but it's thin and is on wheels, so you can move it around easily and find a good place to put it. It heats up very quickly, and keeps my living room warm. Highly recommended.

"Good, but be mindful of safety hazards" 2010-10-12
By yeti_911
I bought this product in 2008 and used in steadily for nearly 2 years during two winters in the Pacific Northwest. Our winters are relatively mild, but my apartment has poor insulation. I have mixed opinions about this heater. On one hand, it is compact and can really add heat to a small space. On the other hand, I don't think it is designed or intended for long-term use. Bear in mind that I'm not an electrician, so my comments are only based on observation without a lot of context or training. Beginning about 1.5 years after purchase, the front panel appeared to degrade and would "glow" in certain spots - visible only if the lights were off. I don't think this was a true defect, but (as a guess) simply due to the sustained level of electricity / current and some amount of degradation in the wiring due to long-term constant use. Finally, just a few days ago, when I turned the heater on, something overloaded and a massive shower of blue electric sparks rained out of the heater where the cord connects to the plastic base. Although nobody was injured and there was no fire, the cord was severed / melted and the unit is now inoperable. I can't say what the cause was; there had been no "trauma" to the heater and nothing was wrong with the cord prior to this incident. Just old age, I guess. Anyway, it is now heading for the landfill....I need to buy something similar that has a longer life expectancy. If you're looking for something "safe" over longer periods of time, I'd keep looking. Just my honest two cents.

"Looks nice but only does the job for a small room" 2010-10-08
By Target Shopaholic (SF, CA)
I bought this for my father last winter. It works well in a small bedroom or if you're sitting fairly close to it but in the living room, it doesn't quite do the job. The pros are that it's quiet and has a nice contemporary design. We've had no problems with odor and this still works a whole year later!

"LOVE IT ... wish I could get another one after 3 years of use" 2010-10-03
By M. Henderson (OH, USA)
I enjoyed my first one so much that I purchased a 2nd one to use in my son's room full-time 2 years ago. These both work great for me. I did spill something one on one of them, it smelled for a bit. But I've had 2 other smaller DeLonghi products putter out on me.

"Great product" 2010-09-20
By Khongbiet
Absolutely quite, energy efficient and effective. Since we got this heater, we are really happy because it produces NO noise whatsoever, heats up the room real well, does not have a fan so the hot air does not get blown towards you, but spread out across the room evenly. 5 star product.

"Very good space heater (and fan)" 2010-06-16
By A. Martinez
I have owned this ceramic heater for more than six months and I love it, my room is the coldest of the house, but not anymore since I have this DeLonghi space heater. I like the futuristic style, the wide base to prevent accidents, and it has a safety switch on the base that turns it off if case of a fall. In the summer you can use it as a vertical fan. I also like the full function remote control. This is definitely one of the best space heater/fan the I have seen.

"Stopped working after one month" 2010-01-27
By 4owls (Ohio USA)
When it worked it was a fair to good heater. After one month of use it stopped working. The heater part still functions, but the fan quit. But without the fan, it overheats and shuts off. I wouldn't buy another one. Also the thermostat is useless. I couldn't find a setting where it would work. It's pretty much off or on. Or it will cycle off and on every 30 seconds.

"Best heater ever!" 2010-01-09
By T. Rowe
This heater is well worth the money!!! Heats my very large and drafty 30x10 living room without any problem. The options are great..allows you to pick hi or low fan setting, temperature, and oscillation. And comes with a remote, which I like when I use it in my bedroom...I can turn on/off the heater without having to get out of bed, such as when I wake up in the morning and it's chilly, I can turn on the heat without leaving the warmth of the covers! Great product and price!

"Great Product For The Price" 2010-01-06
By P. Nair (Washington. D.C.)
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I like it very much. The hum that some people have complained is actually not a big deal. Its much quieter than when my heater kicks in and to be honest the hum is not intrusive at all. I agree that the hum can be annoying at the 'high' setting, but it seems to work well in the medium setting so i never really use the high setting. It can warm up our medium sized bedroom in about 30-45 mts in medium setting. The timer function is very handy too. I definitely recommend this product. One negative - the beeps associated with changing settings are rather loud and there arent any options to control that. Having said that, its not that big of a deal. It also comes with a remote thats handy.

"GREAT WHILE IT LASTED! BUT IT ONLY LASTED 10 DAYS...." 2009-10-10
By S. Mckinney (Midwest USA)
My wife and I fell in love with this heater as soon as we took it out of the box and plugged it in. It produced almost immediate radiant heat, very pleasant!. It takes a little while for the convection aspect to kick in. The heater draws in the cooler air at floor level. The warm panel draws the cooler air up between the back of the heater and the wall. The narrow one-inch space between the wall and the back of the heater speeds up the flow of air, producing a sort of Venturi effect, which is what makes the air in the room circulate. We questioned whether the thermostat and eco mode were working properly. The heater has an automatic eco mode. When the room temperature reaches the desired thermostat setting, the heater reduces it's power consumption from 1500 watts to 1000 watts. However, the eco mode always kicked in before reaching the room temperature that we set on the heater's thermometer. So, I don't know if this was a defect, or if this is the way it's designed, but it defeats its purpose by lowering heat output when the room has not even warmed to the thermostat setting. If it weren't for these two problems I would have given it a 5.

"Best space heater I have ever owned" 2008-02-02
By Vicki L. Evans
I put this heater in my daughter's bedroom in December 2006. It keeps her room heated throughout at a consistent temperature in the cold months. The unit is never hot to the touch and uses little electricity. Our pets love to lay right next to it on a cold day. I have always been a little nervous about the burn and fire hazards associated with space heaters, but feel perfectly safe with this one. Steady on it's feet, also - with all the activity, I would have expected it to get tipped over a few times by now, but it hasn't. I am getting ready to order another for the living room.

"Good heater for a bedroom" 2010-01-16
By J. Hannah (Orlando, FL)
I've had this heater for about a week and it works very well. It's silent and heats the room evenly. The instructions are poorly written and don't really say much about the ComforTemp button. All it says is that it is factory preset to reach and maintain a suggested & preset ideal energy-saving temp. It doesn't say what that temp is. Other than that I'm pleased with this heater.

"A decent heater" 2009-12-15
By Coambis (San Francisco, CA United States)
I've had the heater for about a week and so far works well (as it should). I like the matted black finish - I think it looks more elegant that way, but it probably depends on your room decor. It's cold enough where I live that I leave the heater at maximum temperature for the most of time. I have used the ComforTemp button and it seems to level out the heat, but it hasn't been tested enough to know for sure.

"Generates Noxious Fumes" 2010-06-15
By Anonymous (Oregon)
After reading the earlier reviews, I was looking forward to the arrival of this heater. Perhaps the one sent to me was defective, but when turned on it generated noxious (toxic?) fumes that quickly resulted in eye and pulmonary irritation. I ran it for 30+ hours in the garage with the door open in an attempt to burn off what ever was causing the fumes, but without success. Further, the unit didn't strike me as being particularly well-made: it was wobbly and the adhesive for the top central Optimus label wasn't up to the task as the label either fell off or slipped askew when the heater was turned on.

Nice product for a small room. Has thermostat, auto cut off, oscillates and two heat setting. It also has a remote control. At a resonable price. I would purchase this product again.

"Great product" 2009-10-14
By J. Shepherd (Perry, Ut USA)
I bought this heater after loosing money on CozyLegs. This heater is the best little heater, I find the remote control works real well to help from having to get up from our desks to make setting changes. We have a fairly big room we use it in. The only complaint that I have with it, is that when my wife is down here, she can change the tempature of the room from 67 to 75 in only less than 30 mins, and I am complaining that I need the thing turned off.

"Noisy" 2010-06-15
By Steven J. Sorensen
Made way too much noise for an oil filled heater. It sounded like Gremlins were trying to break out of it. I returned it.

"works great" 2010-06-01
By J. Kalter
Very warm and quiet. We use it in our unheated cabin bedroom in Northern MN and it really keeps the chill at bay. The only thing we noticed was the timer was preset and turned off automatically after a few hours.

"Does exactly what it is supposed to" 2010-03-02
By S. Salim (Los Angeles, California USA)
First one should understand that 1500W always produces the same amount of heat (that is, 1500 W) regardless of a model, brand, or heater type. Fifteen 100W bulbs will do the same. Is 1500W enough depends mostly on (a) the size of your room, (b) how much warmer you want your room with respect to the ambient temperature, (c) quality of your insulation. What heaters differ about is the way they transfer the heat to the air. Oil radiators are in that respect slower than fan heaters because they first need to heat themselves. Also, after that, hot air in oil radiators is mostly emitted upwards, and not so much sideways, so it may take longer to heat lower portions of the room. So why go with oil radiator? Two reasons: (1) possible quiet operation and (2) they are safer to leave unattended. Not all oil radiators are quiet. I had one in a hotel room (not DeLonghi) and it would sound like an egg being fried. Not so with TRV0715T. It really is quiet. The reason to get this particular model is the timer. Timer is really easy to use. We use it to get the bedroom warmer just before going to sleep and in the early morning (before we get up). That is, one needs a timer when one wants to have the room colder at some times and warmer at others. If you need constant temperature, then you don't need a timer, but just the thermostat (which all models have). We had this radiator for less than a month, so cannot say about the long-term reliability. Also, did not own other oil radiators to make absolute comparisons.

"Real disappointment!" 2010-02-24
By Lilah R. Hayward (North Carolina)
I owned 2 of these heaters many years ago, so I assumed the quality would still be there.NO! I returned it as it didn't work properly-if at all. Read all of the reviews before buying. If I had I would not have wasted my time.

"heats as advertised" 2010-02-23
By Jeffrey Cheslik (Chicago,IL)
Heats as advertised. Worked really well in my downstairs area. I bought this and another unit for my whole house (3 stories). I have been able to lower my thermostat 3 degrees by adding this unit and the Dimplex CS3311 Compact Electric Stove. So it has been better than expected. The only downside is that I wish they had a handle on both sides to eas the carrying when moving.

"great replacement heater" 2010-03-09
By Gudly (Poway, CA United States)
I purchased this as a replacement built in heater in our 2 bedroom condo. This heater has multiple wiring options to allow for 220v or 110v. Since our heaters were wired for 220 I was able to follow the directions in the box and have this heater up and running in about half an hour. The old heater was always setting off the smoke alarm this one has been fantastic.

"Broan fans are loud." 2010-01-17
By Steven Thompson (Blacksburg, VA United States)
If you are looking for a heater fan unit that replaces your old Broan heater, this is it. This heater fan is an exact match to its decades old product. It fit the existing opening within a sixteenth of an inch. However if you are looking for an improved product, this is not it. It has the same loud fan noise as the old one. It will require the same periodic cleaning to keep it running. It will need to be removed annually to be cleaned and oiled. For the price it is a good product and will last ten to fifteen years, but if want a quiet heater, pay moe and buy a unit with a better fan.

"Excellent Heater!" 2010-03-07
By R. L. O'Connell
Easy DIY install, just mount it and run 10-2 back to a 30-Amp breaker in your service panel. Heater is small and compact, but works great and has excellent output! Comfortably heats my garage in the dead of winter and I can work in a sweatshirt without having to wear a bulky jacket!

"Dayton G73 Electric Garage Heater" 2010-02-17
By T. Gerhardt
I am very pleased with the performance of Dayton G73 electric heater for my insulated, 480 square foot, ten foot ceiling, attached garage. Even on sub-zero mornings, it has kept the garage in the 50 degree (F.) range, on the "low" temperature setting on the thermostat. On the "high" setting, I've had the inside garage temperature into the 78 degree (F.) range, after an hour's operation, with sub-freezing temperature ranges outside. The only disappointment I had with the purchase was the fact it didn't come with a "pig-tail" (wiring cable). It worked out okay because that way, I was able to match the cable to the receptacle for the final wiring. I don't know how much it has increased my power bill because on "normal" (usual winter days/nights), I don't even turn the unit on, except for days/nights when outside temps are below zero, or I'm actually working on projects in the garage. The hardest portion of the job was the actual running the required 10-2 wire from the circuit panel to the location of the 240V outlet. I had a master electrician review my installation (and purchase of materials) of the dual-post, 30amp circuit breaker and wiring, via a digital photo of the 70 amp circuit breaker box for the garage.

"Third time's the charm" 2010-02-09
By Lawrence B. Carlson
The first unit I received had a defective connection to the thermostatic switch that caused it to fail in about 10 days. The second unit arrived with a deformed fan mounting bracket that prevented the fan blades from moving at all. My electrician took the switch from the second unit and wired it into the first unit, creating a Frankenstein heater that is currently working well. The costs of the electrician doubled the total outlay to get a working unit. Verdict: poor quality control. The only really positive part of the experience was that the vendor, RedeemAir, was extremely responsive -- I actually had the second unit in hand within 36 hours of reporting the initial problem. Kudos to RedeemAir.

"Great Heater" 2010-02-03
By K. Clore
I purchased the G73 after reading several reviews on Amazon and other sites. My experience with the heater has been absolutely great when it comes to heating. I have a 720sqft fully insulated and finished garage. I installed the G73 at ceiling level using a dry power cord at the 230V 30A setting for 5,000BTU. Outside temperature on installation day was around 20 degrees with my garage temp at 48 degrees. Less then an hour my garage was 65 degrees with a setting of HI. After several hours we had the garage around 80 degrees and actually opened a garage door to let cool air in. If you are considering this heater my suggestion is to buy int immediately. I did have a problem with the high limit switch turning off my heater after 2 weeks and had it immediately replaced from the vendor. The 2nd unit works the same and I attribute the 1st unit problem to just component failure.

"Its good, small cute heater fan for a small room" 2010-07-12

Good, small, low-power heater fan for a small room. I use it for keeping my room slightly warmer than the thermostat temperature, and it works fine.

"Good features, quiet, but tippy" 2010-02-10
By D. Stjohn (Seattle)
I like the three heat settings, plus fan only. Thermostat works really well in holding the temperature in a tight range. (Not something my other heaters do well.) However, because its thin in depth, it tips over easily, especially on carpeted floors. Quality seems good or better than average for an inexpensive, plastic housing heater.

"Average" 2009-11-04
By Denis Cazaubon (USA)
As soon as i got this heater i turned it up...all the way up in order to get the desired effect. then a couple hours later I reduced it to medium only to find that a few minute later it had stopped working. i unplugged it for a few minutes and then when I tried again it worked. It generates less heat than my old heater though.

"A nice little heater" 2008-10-31
By J. Burton (Doylestown, PA United States)
This is a nice, cheap, little heater. Works well, fairly quiet, and it does have a off position on the switch, unlike some others. It does not have a tip-over switch, unlike most heaters of this type, which I don't think is a disadvantage. A shame that it is made in China, like almost everything these days.

"A lot of heat for a little power" 2010-09-13
By sallylea
At the low setting of only 400 watts, this heater produces a lot of heat! I am in the bottom unit of a very old building (built around 1900), so it is freeeezing! This heater has really helped! I keep it under my desk at my home office and it keeps me working. Before, I purchased a couple of energy-efficient 400 watt wall-mounted heaters (for over $80 each), but those take far too long to heat up (by the time the room is warm, I'm ready to leave). This affordable ($30) Optimus heater gives you instant gratification and plenty of heat. I haven't even used it at the 800 watt setting yet. I think I might buy another one or two for the other rooms of my house.

It broke down in less than 5 months. I used it almost every single day. Sometimes it was too hot, and it takes time to heat up.

"Good value" 2010-08-26
By Ana Carolina Rojas (Miami, FL USA)
I live in Miami, I am a woman in my 30s. Our office is freezing everyday! It is not nice to work with a thermostat on the 50s and 60s that can't be changed. This product is great if you are looking for a heater for your office or desk. Its powerful and most important, silent. That was my main concern because I did not want to bother my coworkers. It does look like a toaster or a roaster(I didn't receive the white one but brownish greenish...) but I don't care because its under my desk. Good price too! I hope it lasts or I'll be mad.

"Here's why this heater is great" 2010-07-11
By Matthew Frith (Torrance, Ca United States)
I waited a year before I decided to make a review on this heater and so far it is still going strong. This is a great heater especially when you are using it at work. First off, it's a low power heater so it allows you to use 800 or 400 watts. This allows you to use it at work without worrying about blowing a fuse and making a complete ass out of yourself. Most heaters (even the small ones), will run at about 1500 watts and will easily shut down a circuit. Second, it gives off great heat. I've was hard pressed to find any amount of heat that this heater has given vs the heaters that use double the power. With the reflective background pushing the heat forward, you can easily feel it at about 8 feet away. This heater heats up my office in a place where everyone wants the air conditioning blasting, but I've had times where the co-workers were complaining that the heater was heating up the office too much. So, I'm giving this heater 5 stars because I've only have had good luck with it. I wish the same for anyone else that buys this heater.

"great for the money" 2010-07-04
By J. L. Wions
This is my second Optimus. I bought it for two reasons. One is that it is a great little heater that heats up a small area in a hurry with low energy consumption, and it never has to shut down to cool off as fan models do. The other reason is that my first Optimus developed a mysterious short after about six months of constant use (about 16 hours/day), causing its performance to be unreliable. For the price, I decided it would be easier to buy another one than to test customer service, and be without it for a while (for health reasons, I require the heat almost constantly). So, now I have two, and am happy with both (when they are both working).
